Bottle. Pours clear golden, with a big creamy head. Aroma is light funky notes of berries and wood, as well as cherries, some barnyard and brett. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart musty fruity and bretty wooden notes, as well as sweet notes of berries and wood. Quaffable, but too sweet and unbalanced.

Thuis, fles van ABCbeers. Basic gueuze. Toch liever een oude gueuze ;-) vond ’t wel erg lekker bij de pannekoeken. Proef zoetstof in de nasmaak :-/

Lindemans Geuze 5% I picked this up at Grand Marché in Minoh. It pours a deep orange color which matches the label. The nose is weird: I got banana peel & plum and an underlying tartness. The taste is more typically geuze like tart, a bit of cork, somewhat sweet, slightly acidic, hay, plums/peaches. A bit tangy and on the sweet side but a decent little geuze.

Proef zoetstof in de nasmaak :-/ | [2017-11-30 21:43:20] - Locatie: Foeders - Score: 3.5 - Comment: Sampled at foeders bottle share. Hazy brown with no head. Sweet white raisans, sherry. Quite sweet and moderate bitter. Nutty notes. Medium body and low carbonation.

Small bottle at home split with Sarah. Picked up at Bier Konig. Clear orange onion skin coloured pour with a fading effervescent off whiute head. Aroma is semi sweet, sour, funk, sour apple skins. Flavour is composed of sweet and sour, brown sugars, tangy slightly puckering citric acid, green apple. Light mustyness in the finish. Palate is medium bodies, medium sweet, moderate carbonation. Tangy finish.

I don’t remember seeing this beer on the selves for at least 8 years in the States. So, while in France I thought it would be nice to revisit this beer. 25cL capped bottle I with the green label poured into Cantillon Iris wine glass. Amber-copper color, small head, completely filtered beer. Aroma reminds me of decent faro, sweetener there but not the crazy levels of some faros. Otherwise, a decent lambic hiding beneath that. Flavor has surprising amount of sourness with the sweetness taking a back seat. Though the rubbery sweetness is present. A semi-drying aftertaste follows. It feels like a really good lambic is trying to break through a weirdly sweetened beer. If I did not have to smell the weird adjuncty sugars added and then pasteurized, I actually enjoy the flavor a great deal. Slightly tingling carbonation.
