Bottled. Pitch black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is vanilla, some toasted malts, fudge, mild bourbon, wood and a bit spiciness. Flavour is roasted malts, some bourbon, wood, vanilla, fudge, alcohol and mild spicy tones to it. Kind of alcoholic, but still works well as a sipper, as it doesn't give that total alcohol burn

Bottled 330ml (Mikkeller web, 13%, vintage 2016)
Opaque colour, tiny brownish head. Aroma of vanilla, toasted malts, spices and bourbon. Full-bodied. Smooth, roasted, sweet, some alcohol, vanilla, kind of spicey vibe. Complex bourbon blend which is very close to 12% whiskey version.

Pours a dark, oily brown-black, with minimal head. Aroma is bourbon, dark fruit, licorice, coffee, chocolate. Flavors follow, along with some caramel and vanilla. Very sweet and pretty smooth beer.

(Bottle , 0.33 l - bottled on 05.09.2016, thanks VastActiv, at Arde, 20200606) The beer poured oily and black. No head. Aroma had burnt malts, vanilla and dark chocolate. Palate was full bodied and oily with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, vanilla, dark chocolate, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had vanilla, sweetness and bitterness. A quite pleasant burnt brew with strong vanilla notes.

Bottle at Arde's Residence, Helsinki. Vintage 2016. Color is dark brown with very small slightly brownish head. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla and roasted malts. OK.
Bottled 9.5.2016. Flat, no head. Bourbon and vanilla on the nose. Thick smooth vanilla and coffee, with some milk chocolate and bourbon thrown in. Some booze in the finish. Beautiful. What a great beer.

Bottle thanks to steve pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is very good vanilla cream rich chocolate bourbon barrel booze. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate bourbon barrel vanilla cake even.

pours black, no real foam after this time ( 3 to 4 years ) in bottle. Smell is still pretty good. Full on chocolate, yummy roastyness. milder vanilla, hints of bourbon. No sign of oxidation whatsoever. Taste is very thcik, creamy and intense, vanilla, roastyness, got a bit... dare I say soapy ? over time, but its not bad, contradicting just about any other time i used that word. The vanilla still shows, a lot, but it turned really unique and strange… Hand cream comes to mind ( rather than soapy, perhaps ) as it has that weird freshness to it you'd never expect in a beer like this. Very interesting. This doesnt remotely feel as heavy as I'm used to in Imperial Stouts. the bourbon has been toned down ( at least compared to B1, which I had fresh at the time , so that's not a fair comparancy i guess ), making this beer absolutely NOT boozy at all. A strange experience, and a first for me after nearly 12K ticks. Something I can only describe as an ointment for the tongue. Easy to hate, but just as easy to love. For now, i'm in the second category, but I could see this evolving to something very negative if you'd encounter it to much. Regardless of that, i'll tip my head to any pastry stout that is still this good after this time, most of them turn to pure shit...

Bottle. Pours black with almost no head. Just a slight little fuzz. Aromas of lots of bourbon, vanilla, butter, light chocolate, light coffee notes, fudge and filled chocolates. Taste is bourbon, looots of milk chocolate, some coffee roast, toffee. God damn.
