Bottle shared at Au Revoir Tokyo. Thanks Jonno! Pours motor oil black with a small head that lingers. Charred wood, squid ink umami and roasted cacao nib on the nose. The palate is quite roasty but with a soft, rounded mouthfeel. Finish is nice and almost peaty. Would slay with a cigar! --- Beer merged from original tick of Grease Monkey @dylanadmin1 on 17 Oct 2016 at 15:54 - Score: 8

Growler, 11C. Dark brown with a pale beige head that laces well and never disappears. Aroma of dark fruit, roasted malt, bread, peppery oak. 7+ Silky. Sweet with chocolate, bread, stewed fruit, grass, oak. The wood is not excessive but is not terribly well integrated into the palate - it rather jumps out at the end. Perhaps that would mellow in the bottle after a while. Drinks its weight but there is no integrated alcohol.
