An India Dark Ale with huge dry hopping and minimal bitterness which we love and try and brew once a year. The aroma and taste, full of tropical fruit and with only gentle roastiness, bely its dark and foreboding appearance. We've really amped this brew up with the addition of Cry Hops for extra juice.

Bottle From Beer Revolution, Hay on Wye, Powys, consumed at Bearded Theory Festival, Saturday 27th May 2017 it was windier and cloudier today after yesterday’s amazing weather. Pours murky dark brown (by the looks of things through this green plastic drinking vessel) with a small head. Loz gets some heat off of this, I get a little. Nice sweetness but the hoppiness does run through this. Actually Loz is right it’s got a bit of a heat on the edge however I reckon it’s hoppy heat. It’s good. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle from The Beerhive. Dark brown body with a thin off-white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of wood, orange peel and gravy. Flavour of blackcurrant and dirt. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Weak fizz. I love Odyssey’s beers but I feel that this one misses the mark. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but it just didn’t gel for me like the best Black IPAs do. Perhaps it lacks depth and sweetness from the malt to counteract the juicy bitterness of the hops.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Kenny. Pours lightly hazy brown with a frothy, beige head. The nose holds rindy citrus, toasted pine, some earth. Light sweet flavour with notes of burnt toast, oily pine, faint cocoa, moderate bitter burnt pine. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with some oily pine, cocoa, light roast, orange rind. Not bad.

Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Tasty and robust cda.
