KoekeDam is our own interpretation of the saison style with the addition of a French saison yeast. An American hop sort and a small quantity of spelt malt give a fresh undertone. KoekeDam is the ideally refreshing beer!

(Draught at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels, 22 Oct 2014) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of bread, peaches and lots of grass. Malty, slightly fruity taste with bread, grass, hints of citrus and a certain grassy/citric bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Fresh and tasty with lots of grassy hops. Quite nice. (7/4/6/4/13=3.4) Rerate: (Bottle, 8 Nov 2023) Hazy golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Spicy, malty nose with white bread, clove, hay, apricots, elderflower and citrus. Malty, spicy taste with notes of white bread, allspice, apricots, citrus, grain and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, dry. Tasty and refreshing, with a spicy touch. Nice one.

Huge, very fine & dense, lighlty yellowish head, leaving shards of lace over well-carbonated, veiled yellow-golden beer. Creamy, faintly spicy nose, herbal. Not easily accessible txs to the big head. Citrus, fine acidic fruit, supported by the CO². Fine spices and herbs (lemonbalm springs to mind, lemonzeste), floral too. Head is quite hopbitter. Very carbonated, spritzy. Light body. Very nice and fine. Just don’t expect spectacular fireworks - which is fine by me. Second try on draught. Main difference is the bitterness, continental hops, which is strong throughout, not just the head.
