DESCRIPTION

Walloon is our first Belgian IPA. Spicy esters and fruity hops married together with wonderful balance.

Artwork: Panos is the face of Walloon. Not as much of a keen cycler as we first thought but regardless, still a great brewer.

330ml bottle from Cheese & Wine Shop, Darlington. Amber colour with a foamy off-white head and earthy hop aroma. Taste is malt caramel, bready with juicy citrus hop and slightly funky earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry spicy warming finish. Nicely drinkable Belgian IPA.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from the London Beer Lab. Pours clear, vibrant gold with a foamy, mostly white head. The aroma has a somewhat grainy character, orange rind, wheat flakes. A little melon. Medium sweet sweet flavour with further, lightly toasted biscuits, semi-ripe citrus, mild rindy bitterness, nips of pine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Alright balance in the finish, more biscuits and grains, low bitterness, some restrained citrusy hops. Not much Belgian yeast expression, for what it’s worth. But overall, it’s quite an enjoyable beer.
