Farmhouse IPA

Bottle 50cl bought online 190225 at This is Beer, Porthcawl, Wales (now dissolved) @home poured into a pint glass. Sourish nose. Somewhat hazy pale to medium amber colour, a few floaties, yeast islets, tall frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, fair lacing. Sour aroma, barnyard, horse blanket, vinegar, lemon. woody notes, Taste medium sweet and bitter and sour, light malts, barnyard, grain, wood, lemon, woody and earthy notes. Medium body, watery texture, average carbonation, aftertaste as in taste, very dry, boorish/rustic impression, too many rough edges but despite that very nice.

Bottleshare at Chez Smith. Hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Light malts and a nice light savoury brett. Modest seltzer into red wine and marmalade. Savoury finish. Red wine and brett linger. Nice.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Mitch. Pours unclear orange with a bubbly topping. The nose has pale wood, moderate funk, lemon. Light-medium sweet flavour with low acidity, farmyard, woody dryness, straw, a little poo. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with a little acidic burn, more lemony tartness, good funk and hay bales. Good beer.

Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours cloudy orange - amber with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, earthy, musty, funky, bread, ripe orange, tangerine, mango, light oaky vanilla and barnyard. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, funky, bretty, dried orange, ripe fruits, nectarine, wood, leather, tan, zesty and barnyard with a drying funky finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Good funk, shame it got homered up to begin with. Decent stuff.

Bottle shared at Leightons place 27/03/2017. Many thanks to Kenny for this one. A hazed golden orange coloured pour with a lasting thin white head. Aroma is earthy brett, vanilla, pineapple, little hot alcohol in the finish. Palate is semi sweet rounded, moderate carbonation, medium bodied. Flavour is composed of semi sweet grains, vanilla, brett, white grape, apricot, harsh grains. I like it.

Hazed golden orange with a decent off white cap that dissipates to a swirl. *****THIS IS A RATING FROM SOME ONE WHO HAS NO TIES TO THE BREWERY NOR HAS VISITED THEM ******* Nose is funky wood must, oak, brett pangs, herbal exhaust, bitter orange, funk, barnyardm, well gone melon. Taste comprises rustic wood, dank notes, vanilla sour, damp hay, oaky wood, brett scrapings, caramac bar, orange peel, earthy hop dull. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Solid rustic affair.
