Lager. That most taken for granted, everyday of beers is actually one of the most complex from a brewing perspective, and given due care and imagination really can be sublime.

Brewed with 100% barley malt, ‘munichised’ water, and, most importantly, given a proper lagering (cold conditioning) period for 5-6 weeks following fermentation, this 5.2% abv Munich helles style lager beer has a perfect bitter-sweet balance and fabulously sparkling appearance. We don’t pasteurise our lager, so it’s extra fresh and keeps its natural fullness of flavour.

500ml can. Pours a clear gold with a small, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Mild aroma of grainy malt, honey and grassy hops. Sweet flavour of grainy malt, honey and red apple in a crisp, dry, mild bitter, grassy hop finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Clean, refreshing and easy to drink.

330ml bottle: Drank at home on 2nd Jun 2020, during the virus Lock In. Obtained from a local Dobbies Garden centre. Golden/bronze body, clear and clean, white crown that became a wisp and collar after two sips. I prefer the maltier, sweeter Helles and this fits into that category well.
