Cask at the Golden Lion, Rochford on 8th December 2023. Clear amber with yellowy white foam and full lacing. Malty aroma with berry fruits. Tangy, juicy fruits and rich maltiness in-mouth, and a finish of blended maltiness and leafy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with a zingy mouthfeel. Perfectly kept.

Handpull cask at the Alexandra Arms, Cambridge. Dark gold, clear with a small but foamy off-white head. Apricot and orange peel aroma sits on top of a biscuity malty smell. Bittersweet taste with some raw grain and an acidity in the finish. Acidity prevails in the aftertaste with a note of butterscotch. Some nice moments although it’s far from a great golden beer.

Golden, clear, thin dense white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft citrus, dab of lemon, light sweet fruits
Taste of light citrus, some light caramel in background, soft generic bitterness
Palate - Medium light body, soft bitter, quite refreshing. Finish is soft bitter, clean
Overall - Easy going, simple, clean, golden ale. It’s fine. Simple Spoons fare.

Pours an almost clear golden colour with a small white head. Not much of an aroma, some light malt but not much else. Light malt taste and hop slightly astringent bitterness in the finish. Nothing special but goes down easy.
