Tim Suprise has returned to brew for us again, this time at Banks’s brewery, in the West Midlands. This hazy wheat beer is a light amber colour, with the addition of orange peel and coriander imparting a spicy character, balanced by moderate hop notes and a smoothness provided by the wheat. Hops: Hallertau Hersbrücker, Topaz.

Wethersoon Autumn Beer Festival 2017. Cask @ Beckett’s Bank, Leeds. Paler golden with a creamy head. It’s crisp for its strength and is a hoppy ale with a deeper aftertaste.

Cask at the Silk Mercer (JDW), Devizes. Golden-amber with a middling white head. Negligible fizz, and the mouthfeel is very smooth - too smooth for me in fact. Taste and smell is a sweet generic fruitiness, with an odd hint of gin. Went down very quickly for the abv, possibly largely because it didn't feel like there was much depth or interest to it. Ok I suppose.

Cask pint in my local Wetherspoon pub on 19th Oct 2017. Really enjoyed this, seemed to have an apricot flavour to me. Very slight haze to my amber pint, white crown. Spicy nose with fruits to the fore, taste also spiced and fruity, apricots coming through mostly.

Cask at Granite City. It pours clear copper with a medium, foamy carbonation. The aroma is toasty grain, cracker, cereal, biscuit, wheat and dull honey sweetness. The taste is quite light, dry, biscuit, sweet malt base, touch of alcohol, cereal, ginger snaps, pepper and hay with a drying finish. Light - medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A bit lighter than expected. Fair overall.
