This is only the second time we’ve brewed this showcase of the Hopsteiner variety Sultana (formerly Denali), with backup from Azacca and Mosaic. It’s a dank DIPA for sure, with some of those subtle savoury vibes, but overwhelmingly the flavour and aroma screams pineapple, mango and some sweaty grapefruit! There’s a good amount of back end bitterness and some residual warmth from the booze and a mouthfeel that’s big and smooth but somehow airy.
Malts: Extra Pale, Golden Promise, Oats, Flaked Wheat, Wheat Malt
Hops: Sultana (formerly Denali), Mosaic, Azacca
Yeast: Verdant House Strain

Can. Cloudy gold beer, bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Sweet malts, a little creamy sweetness. Smooth mellow hop skunk. Nice mango led tropical fruits. Mild pine and mild hop spice. Smooth finish. Big juicy tropicals here, just wants a little hop bite to take it stratospheric.

Can shared in London - thanks to DanKen. Pours murky gold with a frothy, white head. Big dank snout, with notes of melon, tangerine, peach, mango and papaya. Medium to big sweet flavour with low bitterness, soft bitterness, lots of tropical fruit. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly resinous in the finish, with more melon, papaya, mango, tangerine. Great stuff overall. Very juicy, lightly dank. With a little more bitterness it would be even better.

Can at L42. It pours murky dirty gold with a medium white head. The aroma is danky, green, weedy, very ripe stone fruits, juicy, sticky, marmalade and bread. The taste is dry, bitter, ripe stone fruits, sweet citrus, green, weedy, dank, creamy, sweet ice cream and a lick of spice with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Juicy and dank. Good fun. Rather solid.

Can. Beer Ritz online. Thick as a bag, orange gold. Frothy, whipped egg white, glossy topped, lasting head. Looks the business. Nose is pretty full on dank, sweaty and oniony. Some tinned strawberry. Some pulped orange. Hint of pineapple. Background of vanilla sweet malts. Taste has moderate, oily bitterness. Fairly sticky, fruity sweetness on the lips. Mouthfeel is soft and hop oil slick. Fine carbonation. Bitterness rises on the finish, getting citrusy and fruity, losing the savoury notes along the way.
