Bramling Cross, Challenger
Rich, full bodied and gently sweet. The addition of oats and raisins provide body and a gentle fruitiness with classic British hops bringing bitterness and structure.

Rocky tan head stayed on a still black body. Malt, bitter & liquorice aroma. Medium bodied, soft & creamy with thinner clean back. Malt, liquorice, toffee, demerara & fruity tastes with a long tangy finish. Very nice.

Bottle. Jet black in colour, with a thin, short-lived, tan head. Aorma of prune, plain chocolate and porridge oats. Sweetish flavour, with rich, vinous fruits, more chocolate and some toasty malts in the finish. Good.

Bottle at home. It's ok, but too sweet for me. I do like a shout with some bitterness as I don't have a sweet tooth.

Half-pint, keg at Pen-y-Cae Inn. Coal black in the glass. Nitro creamy, beige head blanketing the glass. Smell of dark malts, nicely roasted. Creamy dark malty flavours with a backdrop of raisin. Rounded dark malty ending, again nicely roasted. Likable. (Glamorgan, Penycae 02.10.2018).

Cask @ Old Wellington, Manchester. Black with a frothy off-white head. It's a crisp stout and fuller-bodied, with more floral roasted malts developing in its aftertaste. Vanilla is prevalent.
