Keg at the Euston tap west. A mostly clear, mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting beige head. Aroma is earthy chocolate, wood, bark, woody praline.. Flavour is composed of semi sweet nutty, light bourbon, vanilla, oak, solvent, oily. Palate is woody oak, moderate carbonation. Not bad.

Keg at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours black-brown with a modest, creamy khaki head. Certainly some coffee in the nose, maybe day-old, with other notes of moderate roasted malts and milk chocolate. Medium sweet flavour with a decent kick of scorched earth, medium-strength coffee, vanilla pods, cocoa. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with velvety texture and fine carbonation. Finishes with a bit of booze warmth, some burnt marshmallows, cofffee, earth, more cocoa. This beer does everything well.
