12oz bottle at Da Aldo in Venice pours a murky orange with lots of frothy, white head. Nose has dried citrus rind, some herb, dusty couch, stale graps, soap, quite a bit of blooming yeast. Flavor has more pithiness, burlap sack, herbs, dried citrus, yeast. Full bodied, bitter finish. A bit off.

Bottle, 6.0%. Flowery hop aroma. Hazy amber colour, sparkling. Very big rocky tan head. The flavour is slightly yeasty to begin with. Has a distinct bitterness, rough but good. Very refreshing hoppiness, nice and grapefruity. High carbonation.

On tap at Basement Beer Bar. It’s an unclear orange colored beer with a small, dense off-white head. The aroma is rather weak, with pine cones, resins and some malty notes. It’s medium bodied and soft on the palate, semi-sweet. The flavor has a fine bitterness to deal with the sweetness there is. Pine cones and some resin. Lasting bitter finish with grapefruit. A bit dull, but tasteful and easy drinkable. 150301

Keg at Cherry Reds Cafe, Birmingham. Amber, slightly cloudy with very little visible carbonation. Peaches, pine resin, a bit of avocado. Bitterness of the hop tempered by a fruity/malty sweetness. Obviously very decent but no standout in the style.

Bottle from Taniguchi. Sweet malt nose, stone fruits, oranges, caramel, pine. Rather old school but with big, juicy, fruity hops. Deep orange, cloudy, with a thick head. Sweet and malty, pine and fruit, peaches, melon, caramel. Tasty enough, sweet then bitter, long-lasting. Too sweet, though, and the finish is a bit metallic and harsh.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, amber colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty aroma with a cautious nuttily touch, piney and herbal hoppy overtones, hints of orange and mandarine. Taste is bone dry, hoppy, hints of orange and mandarine, a piney, herbal and mineral touch, subtle, dry, nuttily caramel malty basis; lively carbonation.
