0.473 l can from 'Beer Republic', 2023 vintage, canned in September 2023. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, brown head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty, gently fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, whisky, vanilla and dark fruits. Fairly sweet, malty, quite roasty-bitter, gently fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, roasted hazelnut, whisky, vanilla, some dark fruits and a touch of licorice, followed by a long, fairly roasty-bitter, slightly boozy finish. Full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Massive beer, very intense, great barrel-aging, just a bit sharp.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brn/blk with a large creamy dark tan head. Aroma of whiskey and chocolate. Arguably full bodied. Not dry, but acceptably sweet from dark malt. Bitterness or the equivalent is supplied in part by heat. Flavor is whiskey, chocolate, dark malt, vanilla and wood notes. Excellent flavor.

Tasted at October Beermalade tasting in Bratislavka. Almost black color with medium beige head. Aroma of dark malt, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, whiskey barrel. Taste si very similar with dark malt, dark chocolate, touch of caramel, vanilla, whiskey, barrel. Alecohol is noticable, still in good way. Tasty.

Can picked up from (forgot where?) had this at home Christmas Day Wednesday 25th December 2024, shared with Baz, listening to ByteFM. Pours black with a large but fast disappearing tan head. Very thick mouthfeel, vanilla and oak but a little bit boozy, some coffee, roasty and a little bit bitter. Baz picks up liquorice, I know what he means.

Pint can. Pours a very dark brown color with a decent sized khaki head that has good retention. The aroma medium in strength with molasses, tobacco and whiskey. The taste is big and bold with coffee, molasses, walnuts, licorice and a trace of booze. The palate is medium in viscosity with soft carbonation. Finishes long with lingering anise and bitter walnuts. Overall: Decent Imply, Paired well with some aged Robusta gouda.
