Pale brown colour. It’s an above average session bitter with a malty backbone and a strong, dry aftertaste.

Cask @ Standing Order, Edinburgh [281013]
Amber, clear, dense white head
Aroma of light fruits, hint of spicy hops, some cereal malts
Taste of soft fruity malts, light caramel malts, slight spicy soft bitter hops, easy, mellow
Palate - Medium body, very soft bitter, good texture. Finish as main flavour, mellow soft citrus, soft bitter
Overall - Easy going, quite a decent beer, nothing stands out but well put together as a whole

Had this at The Penny Black JDW, Bicester, Oxon Wednesday 23rd October 2013 Pours light amber with slim white head. Amongst the Batemans Hazelnut Brownie, Adnams/Stones collab’ and the GK 8.5% beers this much like the Terrapin/Shepherd Neame were easily forgotten but they were had and this was rather ordinary, some light vanilla, a little bitterness, touch of fruit but really there was little to excite. Cask at the Bear (JDW), Maidenhead. Golden amber with a tight cream head; floral aroma; malty backbone with some tangy but non-descript fruit; then a dry biscuity bitterness to finish. Smooth and satisfying, leaving a clean herbal aftertaste.

Cask at Wetherspoons, Reading. Crystal-clear amber colour with a moderate white head and a light fizz. A little toffee and vanilla followed by crisp autumn leaves and a decent amount of earthy bitterness. Reasonable autumn beer, much better than my previous experience of this brewery.

Stick or Twist, Leeds. Slightly hazed golden coloured ale with a small head. It has a balance between hops and grain and the result is good! It has a light floral aroma and is tasty.

3rd of a pint in the Wellington Spoon’s on 16th Oct 2013: finally get my Jersey and Liberation ’tick’ after losing my notes years ago during a GBBF, where I drank every Island brew I could get. This beer poured a pleasing amber/dark golden colour, small head covered the top. Subtle and delicate nose/taste: lightly malted with a mild citrus fruitiness in attendance. OK more than ’cracking’ and comes out around Mr Average in all aspects for me.

Cask @ Pilgrims Progress, Bedford. Amber. Light head. No aroma! Really. Nothing at all. Taste is first cloying, a bit sickly and unbalanced, but in improves over the course of the pint. It just isn’t a good beer.
