Cardinal 201017. Black color with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, nuts, dried fruits. Flavor is roasted malt, hop, cocoa, nuts, coffee, cocoa, bonfire, caramel. Full body. Nice beer.

On tap at GABF, pours a dark brown with small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, hazelnut. Medium body, similar flavors to nose, dry finish, good.

On tap at Cardinal. A more or less black beer with a creamy dark beige head leaving lacing. Roasted, chocolatey, nutty nose with a touch of bonfire and ashtray. Fine dried fruit hints in the far back. It's silky on the palate, dryish and roasted-bitter and full-bodied. Roasted malts, oat, nut notes, caramel, some chocolate and a touch of bonfire in the flavor. Some residual sweetness. Lasting roasted finish with nuts and chocolate. Very smooth and tasteful this one. 171020

Bottle: Nearly black, with a tan head. Chocolate, cola, caramel, hazelnut aroma. Dark chocolate malt, hazelnut flavour. Sweet, rich, and very tasty.

Bottle. Hazelnut, chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Black with large tan head. Moderately sweet hazelnut, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Nice body. Pleasant.

Aroma: Roasted malt with chocolate and nuts. Flavour: Roasted malt with chocolate and coffee. Aftertaste is bitter and nutty. Colour: almost pitch black with an offwhite head.

Nitro pour at the Taphouse. Milky dark brown, small creamy head settles out. Aroma favors the nuts, while taste brings in some dark chocolate bitterness. Then sweetness, and the nitro pour makes this creamy. Sweet and nutty throughout.

Glass at 24 uurs van Maastricht 2017: Black beer, small head. Aroma is roasted, hazelnut, coffee, chocolate. Taste is the same, some nutty bitterness, nice one.
