Can from Wine Rack, West Byfleet. The dog and rye come through in the yeasty aroma - sweet but gently spiced. Semi-opaque treacle toffee brown. Creamy off-white head, even if it is on the thin side. The taste matches the aroma - initial sweetness is balanced our by umami and bitterness. Medium bodied. Creamy, almost gloopy mouthfeel. Average carbonation. A certain dryness to the finish. Defoe lately a sipper - whilst the sweetness is held in check, it would still new too sweet to chug. Interesting, my only concern is that it could be slightly medicinal.

Can at LKS. It pours hazy red - brown with medium bubbly off-white head. The aroma is soft, bitter - sweet, raisin, dried fig, brown bread, light spice, toasted nut and rye. The taste is bitter - sweet, brown bread, toasty, warming alcohol, spice, dried fruits, fig, light spice and rye with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not a huge amount of depth, but drinkable nonetheless.
