Draft at Billco’s. Pours clear gold with a light filmy head. The nose has lots of sugary apple candies. Heavy sweet flavor, a little syrupy, with tons of raw sugar, mellow apple character. Medium bodied, fizzy. Sugary finish, more apple candies, Jolly Rancher. Like an apple soda. So so.

12 ounce bottle, 5/10/15. Clear pale golden, lots of fizz, fizzy off-white head that fizzes away with a quick fizzle. Aroma of pear, vanilla, earthy notes and a tart tannic finish. The taste is dry tannic wine, pear, leather, earth, vanilla. Thin bodied, high carbonation, weird.

[2/14/15] Draught at Lagunitas in Petaluma. Clear golden. Aroma of pears, rather candy-ish, with vanilla and a citric note. Sweet flavor with pear candy/bubblegum and vanilla. Too sweet and too much vanilla.

On tap at Happy Gnome. Pours a clear rich gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma is full of syrupy sweet pear with a bit of acid/tartness. Flavor is extremely sweet with a pear syrup note and a bit of dry pear towards the finish.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma is super fruity and reminds me very much of a green apple Jolly Rancher. It smells fruity and candy-like. I don?t get much pear. Pours a very clear golden color with a touch of copper and a small, thick white head that recedes fairly quickly to the edge where it lingers. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately sweet and thankfully isn?t nearly as candy like as the aroma. More pear than in the aroma, but still very green apple like. A hint of wine-like tannins. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright cider but it is way too candy like for me, especially in the aroma. Rather sweet.

Bottle: Clear, light gold, bubbly....with a quick, energetic white head. Aroma is pear....at arm’s length....red apple as well. Sweet, tingly pear flavor, apple-peel.....vanilla.. Huge taste. Crisp and bright...very nice.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours sort of perry color with a transient fizzy white head. Aroma is sweetish pear. But the flavor has a lot of apple. It seems to alternate between crisp and tart. Not sure this should be under the perry style. Back and forth. Apple/pear. Not bad. Perhaps a bit sweet. Always something new under the sun.
