Part of a series where the grain bill is the same but the hops differ in each batch to make one hoppy session beer. Always low ABV but still full-bodied because of additions of lactose and oats.

Keg at the Greyfriar, Reading. Gold with a lasting white head and a light fizz. Pleasant peach and apricot aroma continues into the flavour with the addition of some lemon. Sweetish with a mild bitterness. Nice flavour but quite watery and oddly unsatisfying. No doubt it would be better on cask.

Cask-conditioned at the Barley Mow, Bristol 27/8/2016. Golden in colour with a decent, off-white, head. Grassy hops, biscuity malts, some citrus fruit leading to a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

500ml bottle. Hazy golden yellow colour with a frothy one-two finger white head, good lacing and retention. Aroma: hoppy, citrus and tropical fruits, mango, peach, caramel. Taste: citrus and tropical fruits, mango, grapefruit, orange. Good bitterness, dry finish, medium bodied. One of the best sessionable IPAs I’ve had, awesome beer.

04.05.2016, 0,5l bottle (batch #283) @ home:
Nice slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fresh fruity, leafs, sorachi hops, wet grass, wet hops, moss, pineapple, dried fruits, minerals, hay, pine needles, hints of citrus. Taste is dry foresty, bark, weeds, leafs, moss, harsh hops, minerals, grass, paper, soil, pine needles, hints of sorachi, citrus and tropical fruits. Longlasting harsh bitterness, dry foresty mouthfeel. Lovely aroma, way too harsh foresty taste. This could have been an amazing beer...

(Thx!) Sampled draft @ Tilquin English Beer Festival 2016. Clear golden, little creamy white head. Nose is fresh clean grass hop, rich nice. Taste is lovely massive blue cheese hops, is that Sorachi Ace? I love you, I is big & beautiful here, low caramel, dash grass, creamy, lightly dry in the finish, overall massive bleu cheese hops. I adore this, this is my thing all the way.

Draft @ Tilquin English Fest ’16, courtesy of and shared with the fine Belgian RB crew.

500ml bottle from Beer Gonzo. Batch 0283. Hazy orange gold colour with a white foam head leaving some lacing. Fruity hoppy aroma. Taste is malt caramel, fruity with a piney resiny hop bitterness. Foamy mouthfeel, light bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy bitter finish. Quite OK.

Bottle from Spirited Wines, Manchester. Cloudy dirty banana coloured ale with a bubbly head. It was very active out of the bottle, couldn’t pour it properly at all. Very hoppy and very fruity when it was ready to drink, with a lot of citrus.
