Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours near black with a brown head that dissiaptes quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet chocolate with a hint of bitterness and strong backing roasted malts. Flavor is also full of chocolate with strong roasted malts and a hint of dark grains.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 Beers this beer poured a black color with a small foamy beige head that left no lacing. The aroma was very faint with touches of anise, cola, wood and black licorice. The flavor was bitter with moderate notes of anise, wood, cola, vanilla and black licorice. Long cola, vanilla and anise finish. Lingering black licorice. Medium body though undercarbonated. Disappointing.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown/black with a slight, transient dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark plummy fruit. Med body. Flavor is super chocolate with some dark fruit. Finishes less than dry milky chocolate. Delicious.

Pours black as the night with a quickly fading dark tan head.Nose shows roasted malt, cocoa, dark chocolate, alcohol and earthy coffee notes. Tempting!Very decadent flavours. A fair bit of chocolate is noticeable alongside bready roasted malt. Quite and aggressive finish of roasty bitterness and alcohol.Needs a creamier mouthfeel.
