750ml bottle from the LCBO.
dark brown pour, with a small beige head. big maple aroma, with some big burnt sugar, toffee aromas also. touches of vanilla, reminds me alot of being at a suagr shack as a kid and eating maple syrup right off of fresh snow. the mouthfeel is thick and luscious, and the carbonation is perfect. the sweetness is quite strong, but a solid bitterness cuts it in the end. the alcohol is well hidden, and the finish is quite bready with big notes of maple, and toffee. overall this is quite nice, a good sipper, but whoa, is it sweet.

Bottled. Reddish brown colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is syrup sweetness along with some bready and toffeeish malts, a bit of vanilla as well as some wood and mild alcohol sweetness. Flavour is sweet malts along with some vanilla, fudge and mild chocolaty and alcohol sweetness to it. Smoothly balanced and a quite nice brew.

750 ml bottle shared by MisoW at Bratislava Tasting, thanks!
Dark copper to brown body, with a medium, creamy, dark beige bead.
Aroma of maple, vanilla, cappuccino, caramel, some sweet fruits.
Tastes of caramel, maple, cappuccino, red fruits, some tea, some chocolate.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes quite sweet, with about all aromas mentioned before and some alcohol warmth.

Very nice. Maybe a tad too sweet, but really interesting and diverse aromas. Pretty filling, but a very nice sipper. Overall not my favourite style example, but a really characterful beer.

Dark tawny, tan head. Very high aromatic intensity. Reminds me of Pedro Ximenez Sherry dessert wines: figs, dates, acorns, caramel, chocolate and, of course, maple syrup. Sweet, creamy; very powerful but still fresh. Very long finish. It’s very easy to get a beer buzz with this different and very interesting ale.

Sample at SBWF 14. Murky copper liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of vanilla, maple syrup, bread, caramel and light booze. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of maple syrup, vanilla and toffee. Medium to full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Solid strong ale. Best Flying Monkeys beer I’ve had.

A dark copper amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, beautiful mix of vanilla and maple, smooth fruity malt, light orange pulp, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a sweet pinot de charente with apple brandy, maple, vanilla, light coffee, alcohol burn, very pleasant and complex. On tap at Arrow and Loon.
