Brekeriet Seizoen is a Scanian light saison receiving its special character by fermentation using a mixture of different yeast strains, particularly those of the genus Brettanomyces. The beer is carbonated naturally by fermentation in the bottle and therefore giving a thin layer of yeast on the bottom.

Draught@Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma is hay, some tart wood and mild citrus tones. Flavour is zesty, some lactic acid, mild tart wooden notes with some floral tones. Easy going pleasantly dry and tart brew.

Sample at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival 2013. Hazy hay yellow liquid with huge white head. Aroma of white pepper, barnyard, bread, light apples, funk and earth. Taste is dry, light sour and light bitter with notes of white pepper, barnyard and bread. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Really nice.

From tap. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is bretty, citrusy and light grapefruity. Dry, wooden, bretty and light citrusy. Dry, leathery and lingering fruity. Fruity, peachy and dry into the finish.

Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Cloudy straw colour, creamy head. Tart nose with some old hay. Dry with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Lemon peels and stable. Light and freshening with some milk. Low bitterness. An elegant, professional brett saison.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 14 Sep 2013) Hazy yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with peaches, hay, elderflowers and wheaty malt. Malty, fruity taste with notes of grass, citrus, peaches and a dry finish with a fresh grassy bitterness and a gentle yeasty acidity. Medium body, quite dry. Refreshing and quite an approachable saison. Nice one.
