Brekeriet White Label

Brekeriet Rósaldin is a fruit beer mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Rosehips are added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves fruit which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Rósaldin is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 28 Sep 2013) Golden yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, yeasty nose with citrus, peaches, grapefruit and brett. Malty, yeasty taste with notes of grass, hay, citrus, grapefruit and a gentle finish with a mild citric bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh and tasty, but I didn’t find much of the rosehips. Quite nice.

Draught @ The Rover. Pours hazy pale golden with a small frothy white head that doesn’t leave much trace while dissipating. Smell is funky and fruity with crackers, rose hips, dry soil, leather, barnyard, grapefruit rinds, hay, and hints of strawberries. Taste is tiny bitter, tiny sour, fruity and funky with crackers, barnyard, rose hips, lemon juice, dry soil, pepper corns, hay, leather, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest and dry wood. Mouthfeel is dry, tiny fruity tart and light bodied. Finish is sour, bitter and fruity with crackers, rose hips, barnyard, hay and grapefruit rinds. Good but not all the way there...

Mycket god.
