Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and caramel. Thin mouth with sweet roast, dark chocolate, nutty malt, lingering dry finish, very good.

Bottle: Pours a deep brown body topped with a thick brown head. Fizzy at first, but creamy and lots of thick lacing. Nose is an intense coffee, roast, and cocoa blend. Roasty and nutty flavors, light cocoa and some faint bitters. Lots of carbonation, more than desirable, imo. The good thing is a heavy finish of roast and chocolate that brings a seemingly creamy feel into play and helps get past the bubbles. Interesting.

Pours a dark brown close to black and leaves the same colored body with an off-white close to tan one finger head that dies within a minute giving some thick lacing that starts to spider web after a minute; the aroma has some dark roasted malts, an adequate amount of coffee and chocolate combined nicely; the flavoring is sweet at times and somewhat bitter at other times, sticky yet chocolatey aftertaste, dry finish; the palate is not as easy as some may think but hey who’s arguing this is a Foreign/Export stout so it lives up to its style - medium to heavy, close to a sipper, carbonation is exceptionally smooth for a foreign/export stout, it really feels very well done, alcohol is not felt on the mouth or tongue, overall - wow what a great beer, I’d have this again, probably one of the better ones by Midnight Sun

22 ounce bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours pitch black color with a 1 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toast, char, floral, pine, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of roasted malt notes with moderate hops. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, toast, char, floral, light pine, and roasted earthiness. Moderate floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, char, floral, pine, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance and complexity of roasted malt flavors; with nice hop bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation medium-full body; with a creamy, chalky, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic Export stout! All around great balance and complexity of roasted malt flavors with moderate hops; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.

650 ml bottle bought at Bier 30. Pours a totally dark color with a medium thick creamy brown head. A sweet nose of roast, cocoa and metal. The flavor is great: sweet cocoa, caramel, big roasted malts, oats, dusty and dry. A nice thick palate. Damn good.

Bomber courtesy of Marsiblursi. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a frothy brownish gray head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, coffee, wood, liquorice root, dark bread, vanilla, wet soil, dark chocolate and hints of alcohol and black pepper. Taste is slightly sweet and bitter with heavily roasted malts, dark roast coffee, wet soil, resinous wood, bitter chocolate, pine, minerals, grass, grapefruit zest, earthy tobacco and liquorice root. Mouthfeel is smooth, tiny oily bitter, slightly watery and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with cocoa powder, roasted malts, slightly burnt coffee, resinous wood, orange peal and hints of pine and tobacco. Easy to drink and very tasty!
