10/IV/16 - 50cl can @ home - BB: n/a, canned: XI/4/15 (2016-352) Thanks to ElManana+1 for sharing the can!

Clear dark brown to black beer, big creamy solid beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, malty, caramel, coffee, bit dusty, sugary. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sourish touch, bit malty, sour, grains, pretty roasted, bit of coffee. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, pretty sourish, very roasted, coffee, charcoal, hoppy touch, cocoa powder.

Tasted this again, 4 months later, now the beer has a much more pronounced fruity character, there's quite some strawberry jam notes to be found, next to the typical roasted flavours and smells. It gets a few extra points.

Pitch black colored, small tan head, non lasting. Aroma is of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee. Taste is medium sweet brown sugar, milk chocolate, roasted malt and dark chocolate, some roasted acidity, light oats, medium- roasty bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, creamy. (can, Svijet Piva, Zagreb)

Canned 4th November 2015, 14:55. Thanks franski! Shared with him, kajser and ogivlado. Pitch black body, almost no head, what little there is is slightly off white. Nice, full aroma, creamy, roasty, yet soft maltiness, some cappuccino. Nice, soft creamy coffee taste, cappuccino. Very, very tasty really. Soft finish, creamy aftertaste, vaguely prickly carbonation. Flawless sweetish oatmeal stout.

Can sampled @ “Sir Goatie McGoat S&G Tasting”. Thank you Mathieu87 and/or PriorL! Black, little mocha. Nose is thick oily, very umami, licorice, gravy, almost vegetable. Taste is very oily, soy sauce, umami, dry herbal, gravy, licorice. Oily body, faint molasses, soy sauce. Very monolithic, overly simple & a bit too umami for me. Okay overall but I don’t get the hoopla.

Pitch black, tall frothy brown head, settles quickly, light lacing. Aroma roasted malts, chocolate, coffee ground, liquorice. Taste medium sweet, slightly bitter, roasty, dark chcolate, light retronasal smokiness, average to long duration. Roasty and chocolate bittersweet aftertaste, finishes with peppery and cherry notes. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, pleasant and smooth stout.

Poured from can thanks Airforcehops dark chocolate with a nice tan head. Aromas of oats caramel licorice and bitter chocolate. Taste is smooth and creamy with notes of dark fruit cocoa licorice and roasty coffee. Nice.

Porter from this highly acclaimed Iowa craft brewery, from a 50 cl can. Thinnish, quickly opening, pale yellowish beige head with well retaining edges; blackish colour but translucent ruby red on the edges, lightly hazy. Aroma of beef stock, bitter chocolate, walnut, caramel, ’natural’ iron, coffee grounds, black olive, bayleaf, candied fig and a weak hint of shoe polish-like solvents. Umami onset (beef stock) with a soft, subdued dried fig sweetishness and a basic, restrained, very soft sourish undercurrent; soft carbonation with a supple, lightly oily, ’moelleux’ mouthfeel; nutty, creamy malt body with bittering toasted edge and a faint iron-like hint without actually becoming metallic. Subtle roasted coffeeish bitter touch in the end along with some peppery hop bitterness, drying and lingering, but mainly remaining juicy and nutty. Seen the reputation of this brewery, I guess I expected a bit more from this, but this is by all means a pleasant, very well balanced, creamy and enjoyable porter.

Canned 453ml. -at Svijet Piva Zagreb. Black coloured, medium sized brown head, mild chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, mild licorice, light dried fruits and cocoa powder with light roasty finish. Alcohol hidden. Quite nice stout.

Can (from Mikkeller Webshop), canned 04.11.15. Pours dark brown-black with light brownish head. The head stays for a minute. Aroma is roast, malt, some sweetness and touch of smoke. Flavor is bitter and somewhat sweet, roast, coffee, malt. Finish is dry-roast bitter with touch of smoke. Body is on the light side, alchohol is well covered. Overall: nice dry stout.
