Bouteille 1L, gracieuseté de Erik-P lors du CanBIF Fall 2015, Thanks Erik! Couleur noire opaque, mousse moka foncée crémeuse laissant une dentelle baveuse. Arôme de malt torréfié, café noir, alcool, chocolat noir.. Goût de malt torréfié, café noir, chocolat, un peu sucré, légère amertume. Carbonatation moyenne-faible. corps moyen-dense.

Poured from 1L bottle. Black with tan head. Medium coffee aroma with some leather and very subtle smoke. Not very aromatic overall. Taste is decently sweet with chocolate and roast malt, some mild coffee flavours come through. Medium thick, creamy texture.

Pours a really dark brown colour with a beautiful creamy light brown head, great retention and full lacing. Rich roasted malt aromas with molasses, coffee and some sharp hops. Smooth, mildly creamy mouthfeel with no burning at all. Same for taste with notes of dark chocolate and nice bitterness, dryness. This Impy Stout goes does down nicely and is well worth having.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with coffee notes and some black chocolate is quite enjoyable. Taste is a mix between some roasted malt notes with light bitter aftertaste and some light dry coffee notes with some nice black chocolate with light lingering bitterness. Body is actually above average but not as full or creamy as I was expecting with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. This is a good rendition of the style but lacks a bit of body and creaminess that would showcase more of the black chocolate notes.

Bouteille 1L. De couleur noire et opaque. Nez de malt rôti, moyen de chocolat noir et de café avec des notes de houblon herbeux et de mélasse ainsi que des traces de réglisse noire. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement huileuse. Goût de malt assez rôti avec des traces de crème brûlée (faibles notes lactiques), de vanille et de réglisse noire dès l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un moyen goût de chocolat noir avec des notes de mélasse puis en finale l’on retrouve un léger goût de café et de houblon herbeux avec des traces d’alcool. Post-goût long et un peu sec, moyennement amer de rôti (notes brûlées), léger de houblon herbeux et de chocolat noir avec des traces d’alcool.

Pretty good balance. Aromas of bitter chocolate prominant. Pretty thick consistency but good, not syrupy in a bad way. Average carbonation. A bit creamy. Thick consistency. Taste bitter. Bottle.

Dark black body that does well to its name; not a whole lot of carbonation though. Very sweet with a sour finish, great mix of the heavy barley notes with some sour ale hints.

On tap. Pours black with light tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and light chocolate. Smooth, full, and slightly sweet. Flavors of light coffee and rich dark chocolate with lots of roasted malts. Very nice
