Bottle from Cornelius. Black body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of espresso, wood and treacle. Flavour of charred wood, coffee and black pepper with a light acidity. Thin to medium body with a smooth, flat texture. Full flavoured and drinks easily for the strength.

Bottle, 0.33l. Pitch black color with huuuuge frothy light brown head that burst out of the bottle and just can’t settle for minutes. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, herbs and flowers. Taste starts by mild sweet but rich roasted malt, follows sour coffeeish and woody, mouthfeel is dry and spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Not so imperial as expected, alcohol is well hidden, but nothing special...

Zu starke Karbonisierung. Harmonisch röstig-herber Beginn mit deutlichen Kaffeenoten. Konstant aromatisch, die Kaffeenoten sind etwas trocken, was aber nicht stört. Mittelstarke Bitterkeit, harmonisch. Langer, weich bitterer Kaffeenachhall. 9/9/11/11/9/11

Pours a deep black colour, topped with a very hefty and lasting dark cream colored head. Very strong coffee aroma, roasted, with some mild grassy hop notes in the back. Taste starts slightly sweet (mild chocolate maybe) with getle coffee and roasted feel which is becoming increasingly stronger by the sip. Finishes wit ha very decent roasty coffee also in the aftertaste. Alcohol is very well hidden. Very creamy and delicious. Strong coffee presence, but I like despite the fact I hate coffee. Works well with this one.
