Mild, bretty, funky aroma, notes of Hubba Bubba bubblegum, lemon, old lemon peel, orange peel; all integrated and harmonious. Taste is dry, tart to sour, citrusy, minimally watery, sour, minimally bitter and soapy notes of lemon juice, a cautious bretty, funky touch. Kind of concentrated lemon juice in watery embedment.

Bottle at home. Cloudy orange with almost no head. Fresh citrus/lemon, some grainy feel to it. Like a really fresh lemon tart. Tart, clean. Almost over the line to artificial yuzu. Light, dry, woody, funky finish. Very nice.

375ml bottle: bottled July 2015, shared between five at the Shrewsbury Beer Exchange in Chez Sophie on 20th Mar 2017, cheers to Mike. Pours a mirky, cloudy golden lemon colour, white head. This ’Sour Puss’ of a beer had an aroma of spicy lemon juice, the taste very similar in nature, tart and sour throughout: not really my thing. Scored objectively.

Bottle from Firma Bier, batch July 2015, large sample. Hazy golden color, medium frothy head. Aroma is citrus, funk, flowery, slight peppery, bit grainy wheat, lemon. Soft to medium sourness in taste, zure matjes, citric acid, lemony sweetness. Had several versions of the St Bretta now, and I love them all. Subtle differences, but the base beer is just so good, which makes for a winner time after time. Love it.
