Spontaneously fermented in oak barrels, L'Brett d'Or's fermentation is kicked off with the help of the natural wild yeasts and bacteria residing around our coolship and native to our brewery. Since our spontaneous beers can only be brewed during the winter months, individual releases involve blending unique barrels to bring out the best of each brewing season. Characterized by funky citrus aromas, a crisp acidic bite, and a complex finish, L'Brett d'Or will continue to age with the best of them, gaining in complexity over the years.

Soft gusher, big fizzy-creamy longlasting head, cloudy. Aroma is strange sour-ish floral, rubber, citrus peel, brett, leafs, bark, grass, leafs, hay, hints of sulfur. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish floral, citrus peel, leafs, brett, minerals, soda powder, bark, grass, fruit stones, flowers. Medium bitterness, slightly dry sour-ish floral mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Fair enough.

Purchased at Total Wine in Tampa, FL, enjoyed on Christmas night. Overall decent but pungent, very sour, definite lemon notes, light oak as well. Good for the style but wouldn't drink again.

Cork-top bottle, 0.75l. Aroma of brett, barnyard, wine, citrus and wood. Pours cloudy dark golden color with thin frothy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts tart citrusy and vinous, following is funky, woody and faint pepery, mouthfeel is dry, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Golden sun’s breath...

Tried at the London Barrel project. Hazy golden colour with a white head. Aroma has Brett, and is vicious. Taste is certainly winey and then slight sour.
