We put a lot of effort, care and love into brewing Dark Horizon. It is in many ways our signature brew, even if every new version is different from its predecessors. Uncompromising and unique in every way.

A soft tan head on a near black body. The nose is deep and rich, with coffee, dark chocolate, and dark berries. Watching Federer play Del Potro in the U.S Open quarter finals. Truly, an evening of champions. A masterful mixture of deep, rich, vibrant and well balanced tastes. Dark chocolate, fresh ground coffee, dark ripe berries, butter, and a touch of molasses work beautifully on a rich and dense body. Stupendous, sustained taste without gimmick or casking. As good as any IS I've tasted.

Well stored bottle sampled January 2019. Had a few one of this since released and I guess it’s about its best right now – but who knows? Pitch black with a minimal, disappearing brown head. Strong and delicious aroma, very smooth dark roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, dry fruit and warming, almost vinous alcohol. Flavor is super, silk smooth, dark, smooth roasted, coffee, chocolate, dry fruit, strong but balanced bitterness, sweet molasses, warming and balancing alcohol. Perfect body and long lasting aftertaste. Dangerously easy drinkable, balance is the keyword here. I think this is the one from the DH series that becomes closest to the legendary DH1. Sad to say I only have I few one left of this now.

Black, little bit of light brown head. Smell is heavy, roasty, licorice. Heavy body, smooth but heavy boozy, not thick. Taste definitely has some soy sauce, probably age didn't help, also coffee roast, nice bitter. Heavy, oldschool beast of a beer. Nice.

Bottled 2015, thanks so much Phill. 500mL bottle, pours black with a tiny white head. Aroma is loaded with intense roasted malt, lots of hops that are still prominent after 6 years, and black liquorice. Flavour is wonderfully harmonious and deep, with layers of deep roasted malt, still-prominent hops, dark cocoa, and black liquorice. For a 6-yr-old, non-BA impie, this has an impressive amount of layers. There's not really a hint oxidation. Just wonderful.
