330ml bottle @ 't Hof Van Rhile whilst admiring the cows which helped make the two excellent ice creams I had on-site. Pours a misty yellow with voluminous white head. Aroma is gently creamy, light vanilla brioche and creamy tangents. Continues to taste, a moderate triple character, hides the strength quite well. Not bad.

Bottle at Brouwershuys, Diksmuide Saturday 30th April 2022 after a fabulous meal at our apartment t' Klein Gewin. This pours clear gold we a white head. Soft moutheel, bitterness is light, spicy edge, some orange peel, seems well crafted if a little bit safe.

Yellow/golden colour, white foam. Lively carbonation. Unbalanced beer, very grainy (cow fodder), some banana and some metallic notes. Not good at all.

The tripel in this very commercially oriented series, steinie bottle from De Centrale in Diksmuide. Frothy, egg-white, stable, firm, tightly cobweb-lacing head on a lightly hazy, warm 'old gold' coloured beer with pale orangey tinge. Aroma of halfripe banana, apple peel, dough, overcooked broccoli (DMS) note, strong-vinyl-guaiacol (cloves), young 'jenever', pear. Sweetish onset but cleanish, some banana, pear and red apple impressions, fizzy and minerally carbonation, slick cereally malt sweet middle with strong clove- and even somewhat plastic-like phenols returning, clear warming 'jenever'-like alcohol in the tail but the sweetness remains dominant. Clean, soulless, shallow tripel, as if wanting to go into direct competition with Grimbergen Tripel, Ciney Blonde and the like. If this is these guys' style, then I will certainly not go searching for the limited 75 cl edition of this beer, which they announced on social media last week. This whole range adds nothing gastronomically meaningful to the Belgian beer map - luckily for the 'Diksmuidenaars', Dolle Brouwers is just around the corner...

Blond colour with stable lasting head. Aroma has a lot of sweet and lightly toasted malts. Flavour is not overly sweet. Nice spicy dryness.

Goudgeel bier met mooie schuimkraag. Smaak is zoet en hoppig met iets van sinaasappel en ietwat banaan. Fijn bier.

Bottle at home. Hazy yellow color, foamy white head. Smell and taste malts, sweetish, herbal a bit, a note of citruspeel. Decent body, average carbonation. Mwah. 7-2-6-3-12.

33cl bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout. F: big, white, average retention. C: pale gold, clear. A: malty, vaguely fruity, bit honey, pasteurized, banana, bit bready. T: medium malty base, bit honey, vaguely fruity, grassy, very cheap feeling all together, bit spicy, alcohol well hidden, harsh bitterness, light to medium body is too strange for 9%, medium carbonation, not good and we have here another tripel tick, why not? But is there still some space for more tripels in Belgium? :)

27/X/18 - 33cl bottle @ Poperings Bierfestival, BB: n/a - (2018-1614) Thanks to my wife for driving me around today!
Clear pale blond beer, big irregular creamy white head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of yeast, ripe banana, slightly spicy, more orange peel, fruity touch. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body (so, little malts and lots of sugar). Taste: sweet, bit metallic, lots and lots of ripe banana and bitter banana peel. Aftertaste: more metallic going on, orange peel, more banana as well. Weird, usually VSB makes pretty decent tripels. This one seems a bit thinned out and less bitter with what's in my memory...
