Bottle from Dranken Vande Woude and drunk at home. Gold beer lasting white head. Aroma of a Belgian blond ale. Some alcohol strength present. Some spicy hop on finish. Some alcohol sweetness. Some dryness on finish. Fine if fairly average

Strong Belgian blonde commissioned by Coin Cassé in Nieuwpoort at the Belgian seaside; steinie bottle at Kantien, Ghent. Medium thick, snow white, opening but generally well-retaining, lacing head, lightly hazy deep orange-tinged peach blonde beer. Aroma of banana, industrial honey, cooked sweet apples, carrot juice, fried sweet potatoes, 'perzikenjenever', bubblegum, orange, touches of earth, green pear, grass and vague DMS. Sweet onset, ripe banana and peaches as well as a red apple note, lively carbonation on the 'coarse', stinging side, smooth-edged but full mouthfeel; lingering white sugary sweetness on top of a cereally, honeyish maltiness, with some grassy-floral hop bitterness in the end together with very light phenolic accents and a boozy, wodka-like alcohol warmth that becomes just a tad much for me in the end. Sweetness lingers, dried by alcohol heat more than hops. By itself, a perfectly fine, clearly Duvel-inspired Belgian 'edelbier', but cliché and a bit too boozy for me; I can, however, imagine myself drinking this again on a summer afternoon at the Nieuwpoort beach instead of a Duvel, if I ever pass by there.

33cl bottle from Bruges Beer Festival 2019 day 2. F: big, white, long lasting. C: gold, very light hazy. A: malty, vaguely fruity, bit spicy, banana, yeasty, apricot. T: malty base, vaguely fruity, bit bready, banana, yeasty traces, bit honey, again mellow fruity, medium to full body, lower carbonation, ok another tripel and not bad but for what, partially enjoyed.

Sunday 3rd Feb 2019; Brugge Bier Festival, 15cl glass. Golden body, large fluffy white crown. Sweet and fruity with a slightly bitter feel to the lingering finish. OK, but surrounded by many superior beers on the day.

2 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to tderoeck, 77ships, Jerre, Kevin & Anke! Clear golden with a lasting, big, frothy, white head; lots of lacing. Aroma of grain, green banana, ripe apricot, white bread, white sugar, yeast, pineapple. Taste is light to medium malty sweet, lots of pineapple & banana, very yeasty & bready with notes of white sugar, in combination with the fruitiness giving it a honey-like effect; light to medium grainy bitter then, a bit spicy with a sourish lemony edge, enduring estery & sugary character. Dry, grainy finish, bit grassy hoppy, lingering yeast, banana & pineapple. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Unconvincing Belgian Blond, yet another one!

2/II/19 - sample @ Brugs Bierfestival, BB: n/a - (2019-196) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing todays' beers!
Clear orange beer, creamy white head, stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty, grains, cow fodder, rather unpleasant. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sweet start, malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, metallic. Aftertaste: sweet, malty, some spices, a bit dirty, don't like it.
