nose of vanilla, oak, caramel, hops, and some sticky toffee apples. the mouthfeel is so thick, and satisfying. Wow, what a flavour!! SUPER smooth, some really nice vanilla, and oak flavours topped off with more of that toffee apple, with a nice hoppy finish, with a lingering caramal. wow, what an amazing beer!

12 oz bottle, Bottled dated 2014. Murky brown pour with a small off white head that soon fizzes to a fine ring around the glass. The aroma is strong with oak, sawdust, apricots, persimmons and something mildly spicy-herbal I cant place. The taste is remarkably smooth and features woods, medium grains, mixed fruits, some vanilla, a bit of toffee and a trace of bitter pine. The palate is full, oily and viscous with soft carbonation. Finishes long and semi-sweet with lingering barrel notes. Overall: Decent brew--this is one for the ages. It seems that Alan's intent of making beers that can be laid down and aged is going quite well. Paired well with some aged Swiss cheese.
