Tap at UBF’16, Utrecht: Black colored brew with an dry bitter taste, hints of citrus, chocolate and some herbs. Also very foamy beer so you will have to wait an while to drink it properly.

Tap at the Hoppzak, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark brown, almost black colour with a big frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty, grassy, nettle, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, dry, liqourice, grass box, dry hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle at home, from De Bierkonig, 24th June 18. Been after this furry aquatic critter for some time. Pours a beautiful black beer, with a fine really Lacey rim of head. Aroma is cocoa, slight citrus, sharp, some roasty elements. Taste is bitter, cocoa, citrus rolled in cocoa powder, bitter dark chocolate, grapefruit, loads of layers and a bitter grainy cocoa citrus finish, that last lingers. Delicious BIPA.

(Bottle, De Drie Dorstige Herten, Utrecht, 22 Feb 2018) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted, hoppy nose with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, mint and pine needles. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, grapefruit, pine needles, a touch of mint and a generous piney, citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, mainly dry. Tasty and well made black IPA. Very nice.

33cl Bottle at Kloek Vredenburg. Black colour, beige head. Aroma is quite sweet, not very hoppy, coffee with milk and sugar, roasted malts, chocolate. Flavour follows, yeasty, a bit watery. Light to medium bodied. Not great tbh.

At Pre-Borefts tasting. Aroma of licorice, malt and caramel. Taste has bitter buttery caramel, peach and some licorice. Definitely some diacetyl here, but it's still solid.
