The Houleuse is a light and fruity beer. Wheat malt gives it a cloudy appearance and a certain sweetness. Bittersweet, the addition of orange peels reveals a fruity fragrance and a certain freshness. It is a refreshing beer ideal for hot days, for an aperitif, and to accompany fish or other light dishes.

Bottled, alc. 5.0 % (BB 12/2007)
Hazy orange color, small white head. Sourish aroma. Slightly sour flavor too. Berry-banana-like light perfumic flavor. Kind of wheat beer. Propably also a bit infected as has some sourness in it ... seems to be very common in Swiss micros.

Bottled (5.0%, thanks Bov!). Hazy yellowish orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, yeast and cookies along with some sour/acidic notes. Flavour is fruity, malty, a bit vegetably and spicy. Also some slight yeastyness.

[At Fete de la Biere 2004, Lausanne] A hazy pale yellow beer with a fine head. The aroma is sweet with notes of citrus and an odd note. The flavor is sweet with loads of lemon, but also a sourness, as if it is over the top or is it the wheat content? The end is very dry.

Hazy golden color. Light aroma of malt, stronger aroma of yeast; metallic. Reasonable body strength, but the flavors are not correctly mixed: some malt, liquorice. The palate is vanishing.
