The Siberians believed there was a ‘World Tree’ that served as the Axis Mundi, connecting the different worlds through its roots and branches. While this Russian Imperial Stout isn’t necessarily the world’s cosmic axis, it does connect rich flavors in a way to deliver you a cosmic beer

Draft. A- Cat litter, roasty, char, cocoa. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Char, roasty, cocoa, bitter. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, robust finish. O- A bit of an odd aroma with a cat litter and sand like nose, but really pretty tasty. Traditional no frills stout that is a bit different in it's own way but it works.

On tap at HopCat, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out roasted malt and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is along the same lines, with heaps of roasted malt and a fair degree of hoppiness. Nicely balanced and highly drinkable for the style. Very good.

500 ml bottle in a trade with JStax. Pitch black color with lots of full fizzy head. A tad over carbonated. Aroma is roasted malt, licorice, dark fruit and oak.
Flavor is pretty much the same. Full body and what I look for in an imperial stout. The mouthfeel is slightly off because the carbonation level being so amplified. Flavor is very licorice dominate with hints of dark fruit, chocolate, and wet oak. Alcohol is almost totally hidden. Bourbon isn’t really found, mostly oak aftertaste. Overall still really good.

Totally black, 1 finger espresso colored crema head. vanilla bomb with a bit of marshmallow and pecan. taste is the same. It’ like a chocolate cake w/ vanilla beans blended right in. Insanely good. cookie dough to round things ou. probably better than BCS but with a far lower ABV.

Bottle shared at Belgian Chimipalooza, thanks! Brown with a small tan head. Aroma of big toffee, woody barrel, bourbon, vanilla, cacao, chocolate powder and coffee. Flavour is light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Sample at The Ohio Taproom. The beer is a not quite opaque dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Medium to full body with flavors of roast coffee, dark chocolate and malt. The finish is burnt malt and coffee. Decent overall.
