On tap at the Crafy Fox in SF, September 2024. Short & thin stemware. Opaque, matte black, cookie head. Rich cocoa & shredded coconut nose, light toast. Dark chocolate, semi-sweet. smooth & strong toasted coconut, almost like rum. Lingering astringent bitter bark, sooty bite. Lovely. Better choice vs the 50/50 on tap.

On draft at caps & Taps. Aromas are coconut and bourbon. Flavors are very sweet with German Chocolate cake.

Tap @ CBC2015. Pours pitch black with a small offwhite head. Aromas of dark chocolate, coconut, roasted malts, some vanilla-fudge like notes. Taste is coconut, dark chocolate, sweet licorice, roasted malts, some vanilla-like fudgy thing going on.

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sour-ish and mild, dark malts, unripe banana, grass, sour coffee, caramel, dark sugar, licorice. Taste is slightly dry, dark malts, sour coffee, harsh grass, alcohol, bark, unripe banana, burnt caramel. Medium bitterness, dry harsh mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea...

Draught at the Brewpub. Clean black with a tan head. Aroma of smoked caramel. Flavour is coconut toffee, alcohol burn, dark fruit, toasted coconut, flavour goes on forever, lovely.

Draft. Black beer with a dark tan head. Rich malt and caramel aroma. Caramel/toffee flavor with light coconut and light smoke. Fuller bodied. Caramel/toffee lingers with coconut, light smoke, and light fruitiness.

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, soy sauce, and roasted malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Sample at the tap room. Inky black color with a medium thick tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, oak, coconut and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of toasted coconut, chocolate malt, oak and anise. The finish is boozy with a coconut and chocolate aftertaste. Good beer overall.

(Tap) clear very dark brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of roast, hint of soy sauce, then bitter chocolate, smoke, coconut, smooth and slightly oily palate, intense, balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish
