Tap. Pours clear orange, medium creamy off white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is interesting, floral, lemon, hint of dish water, lemongrass. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, lemongrass, herbal. Medium body. Interesting.

On tap at OBF 2016. I have no idea if this is the regular or the Sansho IPA. It is only listed as Herb Ale Sansho. Pours a copper color with a medium white head. A big spicy nose, the peppercorn like herb is pretty big. The flavor is lemongrass, big but not distracting Sansho, dry malty base. Solid.

"Hand Ale Sansho". Slight haze, light amber. Medium head. Aroma is very herbal - green orange, mint, lots of fun. Soft body, same palate, really want fun, unique. Great balance.

.lots of sansho balanced over a malty backbone. Well balanced and not over powering.

Draught at the Craft Beer Festival in Ichinoseki, Iwate, 2009. A pale ale made with the Japanese spice sansho, often called Sezhuan Pepper. Unpleasant ginger and sansho aroma. Tart, astringent flavor. Detergent-like. Really bad! This spice does not work in beer!
