“Ryuhyo Draft” is low-malt beer made from floating ice of the sea of Okhotsk which represents Abashiri in winter. The “Okhotsk blue” colored by natural pigment of Gardenia makes the beer unique.

330ml can from School of Animals, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky bluish green colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is herbal. The flavour is earthy, watery, mineral, herbal, light metallic. It is indeed unique! I won’t be buying another.

330ml bottle, bought back from Japan by a mate. Pours clear blue with a greenish hue and a white head. Aroma: malt, corn, light esters, floral. Taste: dry, sweet, vegetal. Light body with moderate carbonation. Not great!

You guys are crazy... Bottle. Bright blue. Aroma is fruity sweet, blue raspberry slush puppie. Taste similar, sweet with hint of beer. Quite a strange one. Seriously gave it too many points last time. It’s just wrong...

Can. Pours a slightly hazy blue color with a small blueish white head. Has a fruity spicy herbal aroma. Sweetish fruity weak floral herbal flavor. Has a sweetish fruity finish.

Ok so this is my first blue beer. Quite surprising. Funny thing :) Aroma is some herbs and some ginger ale. Taste is artificially sweet and again like ginger ale. Finish has bad graininess and the beer has no real character. Also the carbonation seems to be off. I am not sure whether too high or too low though. I would have normally given maybe 7 overall but I am really amazed by the blue color, so I adjusted it towards the higher points. This beer was overall a really nice gag!

Pale blue colour with a white head. On the nose, it’s, what is that? Blueberry mouthwash? Herbal, I guess. Very watery palate, again with a muted version of that aroma. Will be curious to find out what the hell that is.

Bottle at PIB 2016, pours a hazy turquoise-y blue with a small white head. Aroma is quite soapy, with purple yam-like sweetness and soapy cleaner notes. Flavour is disgusting, with soapy, cleaner-like notes and a touch of sweetness on the finish. Looks cool, but tastes terrible. Drain pour.
