330ml bottle from School of Animals, Kuala Lumpur. The aroma is banana, bubble gum. The flavour is herbal, crushed banana, with a smooth, earthy, herbal, yeasty banana, light spicy clove palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Nice enough, but doesn’t stand out from the crowd.

Keyaki. Light blond colour, small white head. Aroma is bit stinky, some banana but light, grainy. Taste is better but still a little stinky. Light sweetness, but overall a bit thin.

On tap at CBM Koenji. Nice hazy golden color with a big, beautiful soapy off-white head. Aromas of clove and banana cream pie present. Sweet on the palate with a touch of spice on the finish, but overall quite sweet. Creamy mouthfeel as well. Not bad. --- Beer merged from original tick of Iwate Kura Weizen on 11 May 2015 at 00:21 - Score: 6

On tap at the Iwate-ken event near Umeda Station. A milky cloudy light honey gold pour. Yeasty winish aroma. Light body, champagne type carbonation but the taste is sweet cardboard. Oxidized, serious issues with this one. Tastes more like some kind of cider or fruit beer. Drain pour/chucked it. Awful.

Medium white lasting head. Hazy opaque very pale yellow body. Wheaty herbal aroma with lemony notes. Dry-sweetish wheaty toffee taste with herbal fruity notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry lemony herbal aftertaste with spicy coriander notes. Faint banana in background, too. Very vivid, harmonic, and distinct. Subtle, but very nice. (0.35l draft at brewpub.)

Bottle, mail order from the brewery. Golden yellow, slightly orange. Medium frothy head. Cloudy. Fragrant malty aroma, bananas, cloves. Rather light body and medium wheat malt flavor. A touch of sour, plus of barley malt. Decent spices and some banana and a touch of citrus. Rather tart, actually. A bit too light for my taste, though well balanced. A little too much on the tart side.
