An annual limited-edition brew, Fuller's Vintage Ale is the most special beer to leave our Griffin Brewery each year. Every Vintage Ale recipe is unique from the last - yet all have to mature, with the flavours developing over time.

For the Vintage Ale 2019, we have traveled 12,000 miles for inspiration, as West London meets South Island New Zealand. Wai-Iti hop brings mandarin, lemon, and lime to the fore, whilst Crystal malt - grown on the New Zealand's Canterbury Plains - adds notes of toasted bread and honey. Looking a little closer to home, our famous Fuller's yeast gives the beer its familiar orange marmalade backbone.

Bottle, kindly shared by Cunningham. A lightly hazy deep golden colored beer with no head. Brown sugar, toffee, dark dried fruit and some alcohol in the aroma. It's full bodied and lightly warming, sweet, with a decent bitterness. Toffee, dark dried fruit and some herbal notes in the flavor. Lasting finish. A bit harsh, else nice. 240907

(Bottle) Dark amber colour, slightly hazy, with frothy beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dried apricots, crisp-bread, orange peel, chocolate and hazelnuts. Malty taste with notes of caramel, bread, dried apricots, orange peel, nuts, chocolate, marmalade, citrus, lime, grass and a mild citric/spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, quite sweet. Tasty and solid, as usual, with a gentle modern hop twist. Very nice.
