This is a 9.3% Belgian Style Golden Ale from Michigan that’s a nice looking opaque orange-amber with a thick light beige head of foam. The aroma is bready, honey, apricot and peaches - tasty. Full bodied with a raspy mouthfeel. The taste is thick malty sweet with toffee, bread pudding, caramel, apricot. It reminds me a bit of a barleywine or old ale. Really rich and a good beer for a cool fall evening.

Bottle poured in Trappist glass. Murky, medium rust color. Yeasty aroma. Yeasty bread, candied sugar, very earthy. Enjoyable.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy deep orange copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of banana, pear, apple, white grape, honey, biscuit, toast, candi sugar, clove, pepper, bubblegum, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and balanced malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of banana, pear, apple, white grape, honey, biscuit, toast, candi sugar, clove, pepper, bubblegum, herbal, floral, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of banana, pear, apple, white grape, honey, biscuit, toast, clove, bubblegum, and herbal/yeast earthiness on finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of fruity/earthy yeast with balanced bready/candi sugar malt sweetness; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly slick/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian strong golden ale. All around good complexity and balance of fruity/earthy yeast and bready/candi sugar malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber, slightly less than clear, with an off-white head. Pear and red apple, yeasty, sweet caramel. Fruity pear and red apple flavor, white grape, with some floral hoppiness and yeast. A nice one.

Draft at Haymarket, Chicago. Pours clear amber within off white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, banana, caramel, toffee and a little alcohol. Flavour is heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at the Haymarket Brewpub, Chicago. Poured a slightly hazy dark amber with a thin round white head. The aroma is dry yeast with some malty alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with big liqourice alcohol malt Belgian yeast palate. It’s big, it’s authentic and it’s very alcoholic... so I won’t be drinking this in pints! A great beer but very alcoholic and that doesn’t always appeal to me.

tap at Brewhaven festival - Pours very cloudy with a good, fruity aroma. It tastes sweet as it hits the tongue then ample hops bitterness kicks in and it finishes dry and bitter. There’s some alcohol noticeable in the flavor. Medium to full bodied and good, this is an interesting beer.
