Hazy orange beer with a white head. Sweet, orange-y scent.It’s quite smooth and creamy, with the orange coming through again, a tangy, spicy aftertaste and some bitter hop. The citrusy zest really lingers, albeit in quite an understated way. Very sessionable.

L’intensità gustativa è normale e la persistenza gustativa è sufficiente. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. L’aroma in bocca riporta sentori di biscotto, frumento, avena, coriandolo e fiori.

Pours very hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with decent retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant around with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, apple, coriander, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt flavors; with a good malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is a good witbier. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pint on tap at The Bridge Inn near Salisbury. Pours hazy yellow with a small bright white head. Aroma is coriander, orange peels, soap. Taste is citrus, grain, wheat. An average wit.

Dec. ’15. A 0.355 l bottle from a local Tommy supermarket. It poured a hazy orange body with a small head atop. Some weak, but notable medicinal/plastic chlorophenol over slight coriander note in aroma. Flavor was quite pleasant, without off-notes, moderately sweet, but that candy/sugary sweetness seemed too pushy for getting more body from a simple brew. Otherwise yeasty with a touch of coriander. Moderately long, sweet finish. Okay, drinkable and even enjoyable to a degree, but this is something else than a Wit.

APPEARANCE: pale gold color and hazy. medium moussy white head with medium retention. TASTE: moderate grainy sweet flavor with a honey-like character. slight oat nuttiness. extremely faint coriander and orange ntoes. low bitterness with a semi-sweet finish. PALATE: medium body with medium carbonation. slight creaminess but with a pulverulent texture. OVERALL: a Witbier with the main characteristics very faint and with a pulverulent texture.
