Big boiii can from a Belgian corner shop. It pours clear golden - amber with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, sticking, boozey warmth, caramel, toffee, brown bread, strewed fruits, pie crust and candy. The taste is bitter - sweet, toasty brown sugars, toffee, pie crust, boozy warmth, tea loaf, dried apricot, tinned fruit salad, raw, green and spicy with a warming finish.. Fulsome body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Pretty rough and boozy. Filth.

I found this 50 cl can at a small shop near the hotel in Brussels on our jaunt early last fall through the Netherlands and Belgium. Must drink what the locals drink. I am sampling out of a beer bar glass with a handle, seems appropriate. I tilt the can into the glass to see a traditional beer-looking body, clear medium gold, a hefty, steady head of arctic white foam that is fed by a healthy carbonation. The scent is stewed grain and cardboard, reel me in. The taste is unique, it has sweet corn, metal, alcohol, newspaper, wet hay and mean intentions. Damn, I am enjoying this more than I should. So, are there more like this?

Blik in België gekocht en thuis geprobeerd. Het is een helder goudgeel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een alcohol achtige geur. De smaak is alcohol achtig, bitter en metaal achtig.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up in Belgium around 10 years ago. Pours clear gold with a fading, foamy white head. Fairly sweet, sugary, with light oxidation, subtle caramelised sugar, ripening citrus, booze, biscuits. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderate warmth to finish, with notes of sugary biscuits, lightly toasted sugar, bread, booze, candied citrus. It’s just about drinkable but it’s not a subtle beverage.

Bottle 750ml @ gunnfryd
Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, alcohol and floral. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, caramel and floral finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

clear golden colour, moderate sized dense white head; aroma of apple, pear and grainy-malty notes; taate of syrupy sweetness with fruity and slight metallic notes, as well as alcoholic aftertaste; not really good ( as expected considering the extreme ABV for a lager) but at least drinkable

Golden color, indiifferent aroma. Peacht, alcoholic, sugary flavor. pretty well balanced, in spite of the warming alcohol, but tastewise and aromawise, this beer is rather dull.
