Space, an India Pale Ale that we brewed a version of before, but under the name Daly Double. This beer is a tribute to a friend that passed away last year. Space was his nickname as a young man and this beer will be a regular offering at our brewery only; our way of keeping him a regular.
It’s with great honor and sadness that we announce an upcoming special release beer.
We’re brewing The Daly Double, an India Pale Ale brewed in memoriam of a friend of Half Acre Beer Co.Terry Daly passed away suddenly after spending a lot of time at our brewery over the last few years. Terry was a fan of music, geometry, his two Huskies, Moon & Luna, and amply hopped craft beer. We’re pretty sure that Terry was the foremost consumer of Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. Terry began popping in to buy sixtels of Daisy and before long he stopped by almost everyday just to chew the fat. After a while, he had the authority to walk back into the brewery and go into the cold room to reserve himself kegs and manage his own kegerator inventory for his home Daisy Cutter supply. Being a bright dude, we put him to work wiring things or lending a hand doing whatever needed to be done. He’d turn others on to our beer and took pride in his connection to our brewery. All good breweries acquire people. These people become the larger body that is the meat of your brewing company. Not the tanks or the beers, but the heart of what we do. It has a pulse of its own and its one of the best things about brewing beer for a living. The Daly Double is for Terry and all the other folks that give breweries life . To Terry, Huzzah!

Can, from Binny's Chicago IL. Pours clear dark yellow/amber with a small frothy beige head, faint floral aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter caramel malt taste with light piney bitterness and citrus peel flavor, smooth body, long bitterish finish. Nice and smooth.

16 oz can poured. Bright, shiny, mostly clean amber golden allegiance with a thick cream lasting foam head. A nice and balanced aroma of biscuit grain and piney hops. A tou h of aggressive piney hop bitter up front, with a moderately creamy body to it, and some soft caramel. Very nice balance to this overall. Really enjoyed this.

Can label says 6.6% ABV. Canned last month. The aromas are mild with some generic hops, malt and a hint of cola. Flavors are very much like nose. Again generic bittersweet with some carbonation decent body and finish follows flavors. Not much going on here at all. Wonder what happened.

Hazy amber colour lasting white head. Malty ipa. Some orange citrus fruit. Good malty backbone. White pepper finish. A drinkable sessionable all day ipa. Not super showy just solid and makes you want to drink it again.

Sample at the brewpub. Hazy amber-orange pour with a medium bone white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a resiny hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Hazy orange. Mango aroma but it’s very light. Boozy, bitter, medicinal and astringent. Pune needle intensity. Lingering bitter finish

Draft at the brewery, 10/28/15. Slightly resiny on the nose. Some malt notes come through s will. Orange with a bubbly beige head and fairly heavy lace. Nice hop presence overall. Good beer, enjoyed the Gone Away more personally, but this is tasty too.
