650ml can as Sapporo Premium Black from Share House in Moscow. Importer’s label says “Made in Vietnam”, but if you peel it away underneath you find “Product of Canada” written on the can. Wtf? Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, slightly roasty. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, dark malt, caramel. Good but overpriced.

Can from One World Market in Novi shared with co-workers at a small share after on business in Detroit. Pours a deep brown to black with a full 2 fingers of beige foam that lingers. Light chocolate aromas with some faint roasty notes. Smooth on the palate with some light plum as it warms. Lingering cocoa powder on the finish. Good carbonation and flavor for the abv.

0.65l can thanks to Cristobal37. Very dark brown body with a light brown head. Aroma and taste of roasted and grainy malts, plums and raisins with a hint of chocolate. A bit like a light stout. Nice one.

Pour is more of a brown ale color with a huge tan head. Aroma is a slight roast and sweetness. Flavor is some caramel malt sweetness but that's about it. Kind of bland and watery.

22 oz can Sushi Uni in Lenexa, Kansas. The pour is a clear black, brown, a little reddish with a fluffy and lasting off white head. The aroma is toasted malt, soft roast and a bit of natural sweetness. The taste is the toast / roast malt, with a bit of nut and caramel sweetness towards the back. The palate is light bodied, perhaps a bit thin bodied and a clean soft finish. Solid.

Can from the supaa. Wonder if this is the same recipe as the one MJ liked to much??? Creamy, lightly roasty malt nose, cocoa, coffee. Simple. Black with a pretty off-white head. Flavor is dark chocolate and cocoa mostly, some cola and cafe au lait, roasted finish. Somewhat thin. This is drinkable and decent I guess, though it certainly lacks character. It should be all-malt, but instead they add rice, corn, and starch. This weakens the package considerably.

22 ounce can for 3.50$ at Johns. Guess I never rated this. Anyway, pours a dark mahogany color with a large white head. A light malty sweet fruity nose. Toast, caramel, berries, fairly sweet. Quite nice. Simple. Clean.

Can from Rosemont Liquors. Dark brown, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roast and caramel. The taste is raisin, roast, chocolate. Thin. A little weak, but a decent simple schwartz.
