12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Dark brown, thin foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke, oats, almost a hammy note. The taste is roasted malt, smoke, oats, chocolate. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness, creamy texture. Solid beer.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a one finger tan foamy head that quickly dissipated leaving no lacing.
The smell started off with a bitter roasty coffee blend leading into a subtle dry cocoa background.
The taste was mainly roasty through the coffee with a gently rising earthiness. Grains (of the oatmeal) seem to allow a nice back up. Cocoa continues to maintain its background. Bitter and dry roasty coffee notes lead the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly nice sessionability about it. Carbonation maintains a nice background allowing the oatmeal to be the body. It feels nice for an oatmeal stout.
Overall, Otter Creek did what they’re supposed to for an oatmeal stout, not sure why its a sweet stout on here, but whatever to me. I’m looking forward to trying the nitro version.

Pours a dark brown from a bottle with a quickly dissipating khaki head looking like separated chocolate pudding (seriously!). After a minute or two it looks like flat cola. Roasty coffee notes in the nose, similar flavor but with a sweet/tart aspect too. Very thin, as most sweet stouts are I feel. Okay beer.

Bottle from Market Basket Dark brown/black color with a smallish tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Big roasty notes on the nose like creamed coffee with a hint of cocoa and earth. Smooth rich creamy, its a pretty good stout.
