A Colorado favorite since 1989, Buffalo Gold is the definitive golden ale. The mild maltiness gives way to a unique floral character generated by a perfect balance of Cascade hops. Our lightest beer in flavor, it’s an easy-drinking beer that still packs a stampede of flavor.

Draught from R&H. Poured a pale yellow. Some flavor but was kind of watery. Not a fan.

Bottle. Clear, golden color with a medium head. Aroma is a yeasty bread smell with very light hints of fresh fruit. Taste is very well balanced with a bread flavor.

On tap at Boulder Beer at Denver International Airport, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out light crackery malt, not much else. Flavour is clean and light, with cereal malt sweetness, not a whole lot else. Clean and drinkable, but boring and forgettable.

Tap at Ted’s. Orange-gold with a fine head. Nose of minerals, grapefruit, a touch of caramel. Quite simple. More citrus in the flavor. A decent, simple golden ale.

Draft sample at the Walnut brewery, as Walnut Buffalo Gold, 11/23/15
From the notes: Decent blonde ale with some light hop notes on the aroma and some malty hints too. Similar flavor. Lighter body and easy drinking. Not too bad, but nothing super memorable.

It certainly is golden, and clear, and gives my glass a nice 1 finger head of foam with good lacing..cellar temp.

I get a mild aroma or aromas of hops like in lemony. A bit of malt behind it; not much going on smell wise.

The taste is of slight lemon citrus and a rather unpleasant vegetal, rotting vegetal maltiness that besides that, gets really watery in the finish.

Good enough mouthfeel. This is pretty terrible overall. Glad I only picked up 1 can of it in my mixed 6er.

Draft. A- Citrus, peaches, slightly bitterness, wheat, honey. A- Golden color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Peaches, citrus, slight bitterness, wheat, grains. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- Very refreshing. I don’t really like much that Boulder Beer does but this one was pretty solid. Not a ton going on but for a Blond Ale, it had some nice juicy notes and a little bitterness to add to it.

12oz can picked up at Harmons
Pours clear light golden with a small white head, some lacing. Aroma is bready, grassy and fruity. Taste is bready, mild caramel with a citrus bitterness in the finish
A nice, clean, easy drinking golden ale.

From a can smell simply like good beer, almost cabbage like some lagers but not. Pale yellow. First taste is fairly smooth, has a tad of a medicinal feel to it. Decent carbonation but not really lively as stated in the description. Does lack many ill ale attributes that I’ve become familiar with and I’m thankful for that. Not too bad overall.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance has a light golden yet clear yellow body with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dissipates leaving some slightly thick clingy lacing that spiderwebs a bit.
The smell has a mostly sweet maltiness goin’ on with a light corn in the background.
The taste is sweet all the way through the malts, corn and adding a bit of breadiness. There is a corn aftertaste with sweet finish.
On the palate, its about a light, and is sessionable. Carbonation is accurate for the style and is good for me.
Overall, this is a good American Blonde Ale, most likely better with food with a decent refreshing aspect to it.
