Keyaki. Aroma is lightly hoppy. Caramel malt, nice but bit unexciting. Solid as usual though from Daisen.

Malty, with modest hop character. This is fairly indistinguishable from the hordes of half ass made malt IPAs that many average breweries make. Expected better from Daisen

Tap at Osaka Castle. Piny, caramel malt nose. Cloudy brown-orange color. Earthy flavor, caramel and pine. Ok. A bit disappointing from them.

Pours brownish, nice and quite resilient beige head. Aroma has caramel, maybe some sweeter dried fruits, such as fig and black plums. Some washing detergent and prickly fresh cut grass. Taste has some bitterness long and persisting but not fragrant at all, somewhat damp. Reminds me Baird’s Teikoku IPA, which is also logical as both of them should be takes on English IPA. This on feels with more watery body though. Overall, not really bad or anything but nothing here to enjoy either.

Another I had ages ago and part of my lost ratings I guess. Had a sample shared at CBM Mitsukoshimae. A cloudy dark reddish amber. A candy fruity hop aroma. Watery and limp flavor wise with just a bit of bitterness and sweetness. Meh, kind of below what Daisen G can usually do.

Keyaki fall 2016. Quite malt, and feels heavy. High bitterness on the finish and a bit boozy. This one is back out of retirement with a lower abv: 6.5%. Clear dark amber with a finger of off-white foam that lingers. Cherry, peach and orange on the nose with some grain. Bitter on the palate but with good malt balance. Bitter finish with some lemongrass and pepper notes. Better than expected.
